I Just Heard from God Today and He Said,
"For it is the power of God." Romans 1:16
When Jesus came on the scene wickedness prevailed, sin predominated, and carnality abounded.
Our Lord was consistently facing the formidable forces of evil. He stood up against sin, sickness and disease denying then access to the human life! He provided them power over all the power of the enemy!
The disciples struggled with the needs for often they were rejected by the populace. In one community they attempted to set up accommodations for the night. They were refused a room! So livid did Peter and John become that they wanted to call down fire from heaven. So, intolerant did they become that the many needs apparent were ignored. They needed power over their attitudes.
More often than not they argued that they questioned each other's motives. Each of them felt that they were deserving of first billing. James and John even got their mother embroiled in the discussion. They needed power to submit to the place God had for their lives!
Recognizing the importance among them Jesus declared, "Ye shall receive power" to cope, care and consistently walk. Power to handle the many a crisis that developed. Remember His is the power of God providing s sufficiency and an adequacy of grace. Let us seek the power while it may be found!
In Jesus;
Pastor W. Scott Lockard Bth
